2016 Season: First Stronghold
Team 230 Sets A World High Score Of 257 At The New England District Champs
Our 2016 season in FIRST Stronghold was full of fun and success. We started out at the Waterbury District event during week 1 where we were the 4th seed, making it to the semi-finals and winning the event Chairman’s Award. At the Dartmouth District event during week 3, we were the 6th seed, making it to the finals and winning the General Motors Industrial Design award. At our last district event at the Pinetree event, we were the 11th seed, making it to the semi-finals and winning the Entrepreneurship Award. Due to our success at these events, we qualified for the New England District Championship where we were the 14th seed, making it to the semi-finals, winning the District Chairman’s Award and setting the new world record high score of 257 points. Following our success at the District Championship, we qualified for the FIRST Championship where we were the 3rd seed out of 75 teams in our division from all over the world, partnering with the 1st alliance and making it to the division finals. Due to our success in each event, we placed 3rd overall out of 182 in the New England district.
