Greetings Gaelhawks Supporters! Here at Shelton Robotics, weeks 3 and 4 of our Crescendo build season have been very busy. Everywhere you look, students in our various subcommittees are ramping up their efforts and preparing for the competition part of the season to begin. Check out the latest updates below:

Our build committee is finishing up their prototyping of the shooting mechanism and climber and now has a solid concept for how the robot will move and score from all positions. Our practice field builders have laid everything out and moving on to construction.

Now that the programming team has fully tested their working trajectory planner, they are now perfecting their object detection. The students are also starting to plan and create their autonomous paths, planning the arm profiles and beginning to talk control systems.

Our scouting team has completed the basic dashboard for game info and working on API. They will soon begin working on an advanced dashboard as well as planning some practice scouting at the Hartford event.

The Team 230 Awards team is right on track and working hard. The students have finished their FIRST Impact Essay, Impact presentation, Woodie Flowers and Dean’s Lists. They also assisted the Digital Marketing subcommittee with finalizing the Impact Video script. Now they are focused on practicing their presentation.

Even though it’s build season, the outreach team hasn’t slowed down. Students are planning the annual Day During Build for 8th grade students and preparing to take part in the DECA Fashion show. In collaboration with the Digital Marketing team, they are also gearing up for Sponsor Appreciation weekend.

Lastly, students in our digital marketing subcommittee having been turning up the volume in their corner of the workspace. The Week 3 & 4 video has officially been posted to our YouTube channel, voiceovers for the Impact Video are complete and now it’s crunch time to complete the Impact Video. Veteran students are teaching new students about video editing and new photographers are learning some creative techniques.

Thank you all for your continued support of the Gaelhawks Team 230!
