As Week 5 comes to an end, the Gaelhawks have been working hard to prepare our robot for the Waterbury competition in just 3 short weeks. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
The build committee has been finalizing the robot. With attaching the climber and finishing building the shooter, the robot is nearing completion. The practice field build team has finished building the amp, speaker and they have been working on mockups for the chain of the center stage.
In the programming subcommittee, the Gaelhawks have been working hard to protype shooter and climber code as well as arm solutions, to be prepared to test once the robot is finalized. They’ve been setting up april tags on the practice field and planning paths for autonomous.
The scouting students have finished setting up the graphs on the Tableau dashboard and have been working on taking statistics from The Blue Alliance and comparing it to the data collected by the team. They are organizing a big scouting meeting during Week Zero to introduce the software and do practice scouting.
Our awards subcommittee has officially submitted the Dean’s List, Woodie Flowers, and FIRST Impact. They are currently practicing their Impact presentation for competition.
The digital marketing students have finished the FIRST Impact video and celebrated a successful Sponsor Appreciation Weekend. Now they are focused on the week 5 and 6 recap video as well as finalizing the 2024 team shirt design.
