Preparing for Build Season
With build season just a month away, the members of Team 230 are getting excited for FIRST Steamworks.
On November 28th, we held our official team kickoff for the 2017 season. We had a fantastic turnout, with several prospective members ranging from grades 9 to 12 in addition to over twenty returning teammates. Our team adviser, Mr. John Niski, discussed at length the rules, expectations, and guidelines mandated by both FIRST and the team itself. We invited both the superintendent, Dr. Christopher Clouet, and a chairman of the Shelton Board of Education, Mr. Mark Holden, who spoke to the team about their avid support and dedication to the advancement of STEM.
In December, our team plans to host several safety sessions for the students to gain expertise and familiarity with power tools as well as a team bonding exercise to introduce the new teammates and demonstrate the values of Coopertition and Gracious Professionalism.
We are looking forward to participating in the upcoming season!
