REBUILT
In REBUILTSM presented by Haas, FIRST® Robotics Competition teams will use their STEM skills and creative power to build up knowledge as they design, assemble, and program their robots for action-packed gameplay.
For the first 20 seconds of the match, robots move autonomously, and both alliances can score “fuel” into their respective “hubs,” or they can climb their tower to level 1. This period is called the “autonomous period.”
The next period of the match is called the “tele-operated period,” meaning students control their team’s robot. For the next 10 seconds of the match, alliances are both able to shoot fuel into their hubs, but after this phase, the match transitions into it’s 4 “alliance shifts.” During the first alliance shift, only the alliance that scored less points in autonomous is allowed score for the next 25 seconds. After those 25 seconds, another alliance shift happens, and the other alliance is able to score. This happens 2 more times before the “end game.”
During the end game, both alliance’s hubs are active, meaning they can both shoot fuel into their hubs, and during this time, robots are also allowed to climb their alliance’s tower. There are 3 total levels on the tower, and the higher you climb, the more points you get.
