February Newsletter

As February comes to a close, the Gaelhawks come with exciting news to log!

Build is almost done building our robot! They are designing and building a new intake which will allow for more space in the hopper.

Field Build is complete, as we have finished building the trench, the hub, the bump, and the tower.

Programming has been coding mechanisms such as the shooter, climber, intake, spindexer, and cameras on the robot. They are working to ensure the robot has full-field localization, object detection, as well as that the controllers are in perfect working order.

Digital Marketing has completed the Weeks 1-4 video and has now moved on to working on the Weeks 5-8 video. Along with that, they’ve been filming and taking photos to organize the robot reveal video. On another note, they have finished printing shirts for the team, and are more than halfway done with making the buttons! 

Awards has finished writing their CIAC award nominations along with planning out a photobook to present to pit judges during presentations.

Scouting has finished the scouting presentation and successfully moved from using tableau on tablets to scout to using google sheets on the students’ phones to make the data more accessible.

Outreach successfully had our day during build and are now planning a presentation at the local middle school.

Although these are the only updates for this month’s newsletter, you can come watch us at our first competition at the WNE District Event from March 14-15 if you are interested! Our second competition will be the following weekend at the Waterbury District Event on the 21-22.
